How to Set Up DKIM for Greenhouse?

If you don’t have DKIM configured for your domains, believe us when we say that you should! DKIM helps you increase the privacy of your email communications by encrypting messages with unique hash values. Greenhouse recommends it for their customers.

Domain Verification on Greenhouse

The first step towards DKIM authentication on Greenhouse is domain verification. To do the same:

  • Login to your Greenhouse account
  • Navigate to the settings icon and click on Email Settings
  • Enter your email domain in the box provided for the same and click on “Register”
  • After registering your company’s email domain, you need to submit your DKIM record value to your IT department to set up your DNS with the same (along with other records including MX, CNAME, and SPF)
  • To do so, click on Email for I.T. Dept and enter the address of your IT department in the field provided
  • It’s important to note that Greenhouse uses 2048-bit DKIM keys for maximum privacy. However, not all hosting services support DKIM keys more than 1024-bits. You can shorten your keys on Greenhouse by clicking on the checkbox against “use shorter DKIM key”
