DKIM works as a signature of authenticity, confirming that the sender sending the email is authentic and the mail is not forged.
Active Campaign will add hidden, cryptographic signatures in the email headers and the public key is provided which will be published on your DNS to match it against the private key during verification. As a default setting, all emails sent from Active Campaign use Active Campaign’s DKIM signature.
Creating DKIM Record for Active Campaign
Go to “Settings”.
Click on “Advanced”.
Click on the “I will manage my own email authentication” option.
Enter your domain name for which TXT record needs to be created into the DKIM field and click on the “Generate” button.
The DKIM TXT Record Name and Value will be generated for your domain, as shown below:
Copy the DKIM records to your keyboard
Paste the DKIM records in your DNS ( resource type: TXT; Name/Host: ._domainkey.mail.example.com ) and save the changes
Wait for some time for your DNS to process these changes (it can take up to 24-72 hours depending on your DNS hosting provider)
Note: Replace the domain name, selector, and DKIM record values with ones generated for your domain.
Additionally, you can configure DMARC for your emails which would help you combat email-based attacks. Get a free DMARC trial.
